To the east of the province of Orense, in the Massif Galaico, the ski resort of Manzaneda, or Cabeza de Manzaneda, is the only winter season of the Community of Galicia. One of its main characteristics is its small size, which makes it perfect for enjoying a quiet and family skiing.
This small ski resort is located in a pine forest of 2000 hectares where you can practice, as well as skiing, snowboarding and off-track through the forest, a modality only suitable for the most knowledgeable of the area.
Specifically, among the services offered in winter are 19 alpine ski slopes, a circuit of 5 kilometers of cross-country skiing and the largest snowpark of the Cantabrian Mountain Range with a length of 300 kilometers in length.
On the other hand this station was the first one of Spain there in the end of the ’90 in betting by the deseasonalisation of the station and to offer mountain activities throughout the year.
The Manzaneda station is located in the Sierra de Queixa, and is the link between the Town Councils of Puebla de Trives, Chandrexa de Queixa, Manzaneda, San Juan de Río and Vilariño de Conso. It is close to the city of Ourense.
From Madrid, combining the A-6 and N-VI, you will pass by Arévalo and Tordesillas to Benavente, from there on the A-52 to A Gudiña will remain 48 kilometers along the N-525 and C-533 (25 Km.). Until Manzaneda.
